According to the Bible, one of the wisest men of all time was Israel's King Solomon. This man possessed both a godly and experience-based wisdom. As a young king, he realized that he lacked both the knowledge and wisdom to be a good king. He then asked God to give him wisdom. God gave Solomon both wisdom and wealth. Some of Solomon’s wisdom has been recorded in the Bible within the books of Proverbs, Song of Solomon, and the book of Ecclesiastes.
In the message today, Pastor Blockson shared with the congregation a few of the wise words of wisdom. This message focused on the issues of the heart as discussed in Proverbs 23:1-22. The congregation learned about their hearts being the centers of all their decisions and actions. According to the wisdom given in this passage, people are the custodians of their hearts. It is the responsibility of each person to determine what is going in and what is going out of their heart. Because it is the center of our souls, we must choose to place it under the Word of God and nurture it in the love of God.
